Student Receives Fellowship from American Political Science Association

March 2018

Kennedy Middleton 2018

Kennedy Middleton, C’2018, is the recipient of the 2018-2019 American Political Science Association Minority Fellowship. As an APSA fellow, she has applied to doctoral programs in political science.

The APSA Minority Fellowship program supports my plans to pursue a Ph.D. and a career as a professor so that I can not only advance finding answers puzzling research questions and methods, but also inspire a trend of representation and diversity of underrepresented populations in political science and in methodology,” said Middleton, a political science major. She hopes APSA fellows will help to increase diversity representation in political science.

Her current research focuses on how governments are increasingly using cyber tactics to demobilize rebel groups. She is interested in working on advancing automated methods that signal the use of these tactics.
