Spelman Student Named a 2017 HBCU All-Star by White House HBCU Initiative

October 2017

Taylor Hall-DebnamThe White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities selected Taylor Hall-Debnam, C’2018, as one of its 2017 HBCU All-Stars.

Hall-Debnam, a dual political science and comparative women’s studies major, is one of 62 students chosen for their accomplishments in scholarship, leadership and civic engagement.

The All-Stars were selected from a wide-range of applicants and came highly recommended by HBCU administrators. Students are appointed to serve as ambassadors of the White House Initiative on HBCUs for one year, providing outreach opportunities and communications to their fellow students about the value of education and the Initiative as a networking resource.

All-Stars participate in regional and national events and are provided with personal and professional development opportunities throughout the year, including web chats with White House Initiative staff.

“I look forward to collaborating with other HBCU students to increase awareness of HBCUs among children in schools throughout metro Atlanta," Hall-Debnam said.
