Colonel Dolores H. Hampton Set to Open SIS Spring Speaker Series

Dolores HamptonRetired U.S. Army Colonel Dolores H. Hampton will open the Spelman Independent Scholars (SIS) spring interview speaker series on Tuesday, April 2, from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D. Auditorium, Room 329.

More About Hampton

Hampton was born on October 18, 1946, in Englewood, New Jersey, United States. Daughter of Charles Milford and Kathleen (Steele) Hampton. 

Hampton received a bachelor of science from Fairleigh Dickenson University in 1971. She earned her master of arts from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical. University in 1978 and a master of science, in the United States Army Command & General Staff College in 1980.

Hampton, an Atlanta resident, retired from the United States Army in 1997 after 26 years of service. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first president (and president emeritus) of the National Association of Black Military Woman, a member of Ben Hill United Methodist Church and the Metro Atlanta Kiwanis Club, and has served as a volunteer with the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
