Computer Science Major Zuri Levene-Harvell Selected as a Code2040 Fellow

Zuri Levene-Harvell, C’2021Zuri Levene-Harvell, a third-year computer science major, has been selected as a Code2040 Fellow. Code2040 is a highly selective program focused on supporting emerging Black and Latinx collegiate tech talent from around the country. Finalists are given the opportunity to engage with various partner companies and organizations based in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

Finalists who secure an internship with a partner company transition to Fellows. In addition to an internship, Code2040 Fellows participate in a series of career building sessions and engage in racial equity advocacy work.

Levene-Harvell was a 2019 Spring Semester Google Tech Exchange Scholar. In the  domestic exchange program, dedicated to compute majors at select HBCUs, Scholars take classes at Google’s HQ in Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California. Additionally, Levene-Harvell is a 2020 graduate of Spelman's Women of Excellence Leadership (WEL) Series.

She plans to become an effective and empathetic major leader to a Fortune 500 company dedicated to challenging the status quo of successful Black women in technology. Levene-Harvell says she will establish a footprint for Black women in data science through her involvement with top corporations in the music industry.
