Spelman’s Eta Kappa Chapter Recognized for Programming, Academic Excellence

August 2018

DeltasSpelman’s Eta Kappa chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., received several recognitions during the sorority’s 46th Southern Regional Conference this summer.

The conference, which took place June 28 through July 1 in Nashville, Tennessee, brought together sorority members, both collegiate and alumnae, from the south and the Bahamas to celebrate the achievements of the sorority’s 200 chapters.

Eta Kappa received the Art & Letters Program of the Year Award, Political Awareness and Involvement Award, Highest Grade Point Average Recognition and Collegiate Chapter of the Year.

Camryn Hall, C’2019, and Devin Wright, C’2020, represented the chapter during the celebration.

“Although this year’s recognition was an important moment, the recognition in itself is not the driving force behind the hard work and dedication of Eta Kappa,” said Hall, the chapter’s president.

“Our goal is always to engage the campus community in necessary conversations, and to be a catalyst for change in our surrounding community.”
