Spelpreneur Schedule of Events

Are you an entrepreneur, or have you ever dreamed of becoming one? Come and learn how the Spelpreneur program can help you. The program offers sessions where you can learn how to start your own innovative business, find an entrepreneur mentor, and network with entrepreneurs. It also offers you an opportunity to participate in a 10-day startup competition with winners receiving educational stipends.

Students will hear the journey of diverse entrepreneurs, gaining an understanding of the skills and mind-set of an entrepreneur, factors that influence one’s decision to be an entrepreneur, and the challenges and rewards of being an entrepreneur.

Tracey PickettTracey Pickett, C'2006
Tracey Pickett is a passionate entrepreneur, attorney, inventor and musician. Tracey began her legal career at a Fortune 5 technology company working in the areas of corporate and intellectual property law. An attorney by day, Tracey spent nights and weekends developing her true passion for entrepreneurship.

In 2014, Tracey launched her first entrepreneurial venture, Eboticon - a media design company with a mission to create dynamic and culturally relevant emojis for niche social groups. The company’s apps have topped the Apple App Store charts as the #2 Paid App Overall and the #1 Paid Social Networking app. Eboticon Emoji apps have been downloaded in over 70 countries and featured in publications including the International Business Times.

In November 2016, Tracey left her job to lead Eboticon fulltime and to launch her second entrepreneurial venture, Hairbrella.  Hairbrella is a uniquely designed rain hat combining fashion and function to protect women’s hair from the rain.

Tracey is a native of Atlanta and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College. Tracey received her law degree from the UGA Law, and is a member of the Georgia Bar Association. She enjoys playing drums for several Atlanta churches and frequently speaks at Atlanta Public Schools and colleges on the topics entrepreneurship and career pathing.

Farah AllenFarah Allen 
Farah Allen is an accomplished technical solutions leader with over 15 years of experience in the Software Development & Project Management industries. She is the CEO & founder of ‘The Labz’: a music and audio sharing platform that automates the proof of ownership process for the creative community as well as the business community that uses protected assets.

Allen's previous executive positions include President and CEO of The Allen Group, where her clients included fortune 500 companies, and CEO and Cofounder of Song Society App. The Labz was one of 10 companies to be selected in the 1st cohort of Comcast NBC Universal’s “Farm Accelerator” program.

She is also the Entrepreneur in Residence for “digital undivided” as well as a graduate of the program. Allen is a graduate of Florida A & M University where she received her BA in Architecture and later her Masters in Science in Information Systems Technology.

Anita BohannonAnita H. Bohannon, C'83
Anita H. Bohannon is CEO of Bovanti Cosmetics Beauty Company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1982, She started Bovanti Cosmetics and Bovanti Modeling Agency, a family owned beauty and fashion empire. She is author of the top selling book “Secrets From A Beauty Star”, Public Speaker, Star of Bovanti TV and sought-after Business Beauty Coach. Her accomplishments as a Successful Entrepreneur and Fierce Leader have established her as a Beauty Industry Icon. Bohannon is passionate about finding solutions for women’s and teen’s issues, inspiring them to create positive change in their communities.

Bohannon earned her B.A. Degree in English from Spelman College and graduated Cum Laude. Afterwards, she traveled world-wide empowering and transforming lives with her beauty products and secrets while helping women feel empowered and respected. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and blazing the trail in the beauty industry! She has become the voice of power, style and fashion by enlightening thousands of women through facilitating women’s empowerment conferences, makeup classes, dress for success seminars, mentorship programs, fashion shows and etiquette workshops. She was the fashion show director for Bravo’s “Little Women of Atlanta’s” Bronner Show episode.

Anita is the recipient of “True Blue Award “ presented by Spelman College, Trailblazer Award from Bronner Brothers Beauty Company, Pioneer Award, Georgia Minority Achievement Award, Outstanding Business Award , Diamond Award and Luxe Lifestyle Award for her numerous accomplishments and contributions in the Beauty and Fashion Industry. Her motto is: Focus on becoming the best version of you!

Imani Watts Imani Watts, C'2020
Imani Watts is a dance performance & choreography major at Spelman College from Los Angeles, California. Imani Apparel, LLC, is a fashion boutique that was created in 2012 as a high school business where Watts sold customized vintage clothing.

Throughout her time in the Atlanta University Center, Watts noticed the lack of unity among the AUC schools and launched the trademarked brand Sparkhouse™ in hopes of providing a helpful solution for students and alumni. She has successfully made over $10,000 in the past 3 years, all while running her business from her college dorm room. Additionally, she was featured in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution podcast interview for Young Entrepreneurs in Atlanta her sophomore year.

With unity at the forefront of her business, she plans to expand her designs and create paraphernalia for other Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
