Program Overview
The eSpelman Urban Education Endorsement program will prepare individuals to teach in an urban setting in the field and at the grade level of their current base Georgia teaching certification.
In Georgia, certificate endorsements recognize individuals’ additional expertise in specialized areas. Earning an Urban Education Endorsement from eSpelman demonstrates your understanding of and competencies to teach in urban settings. This program will provide the historical, social, political, and economic contexts that affect schools and communities in urban areas. You’ll be well-equipped to translate theory into practice by developing culturally relevant teaching strategies and building relationships with students and families alike.
Please note that eligibility for the professional Urban Education Endorsement is dependent on holding a Level Four (4) or higher Renewable Professional Certificate in any teaching, service, or leadership field.
