Freshmen Reaching Excellence with Spelman’s Help (FRESH)

FRESH is designed to engage students early in the career planning process.  Conventional wisdom might suggest that a student’s first year is too early to think about life after Spelman, but it is just the right time to begin plotting her career path.

Spelman Fresh Program


  • Offered both semesters
  • Composed of 5 weekly sessions
  • All sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.


  • First-year students only
  • All majors welcome
  • No GPA requirement

Participants are selected on a first-come, first-serve basis and participation is limited to 100 students.

  • Aug. 18: Acceptance notification


  • Aug. 9:  Orientation to the Office of Career Planning/Focus Assessment/How to Work Career Fair
  • Sept. 5: Student Internship Panel
  • Sept. 12: Resume/Interviewing tips
  • Sept. 19: Student Summer Undergraduate Research Panel
  • Sept. 26: Alumnae Panel
