Consuella Askew, Ed.D., C’89, is one of the 17 library leaders selected to participate in the 2018
Library Senior Fellows program at UCLA.
Dr. Askew, director of the
John Cotton Dana Library, Rutgers University Libraries at Rutgers University–Newark, will travel to UCLA in August to join an international cohort of fellows for a three-week residential program. “Rutgers University and its Libraries are in the midst of transformative change,” said Dr. Askew.
“I will take what I learn from this experience to strengthen my voice as an advocate for my library and to be a more effective storyteller in relating its role and contributions to the teaching and learning processes at Rutgers University - Newark.”
The fellows will explore management perspectives and practical and theoretical approaches to the issues confronting academic institutions and their libraries. They will also examine critical higher education issues such as diversity and how leaders of university libraries are responding to them.
