June 2018

Spelman's Zoe Caldore Opens Doors in Oil IndustryZoe Cadore, C’2011, is passionate about creating more opportunities for women and people of color in the oil and natural gas industry. In May, Cadore was promoted to policy adviser for the American Petroleum Institute.

Cadore began working at API as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation fellow. It was during that time that she was able to work on diversity and inclusion initiatives, like the API’s Wonders of the STEM (Girls STEM Day) during the U.S. Hispanics Chamber of Commerce National Convention.

“It’s rewarding to know that I am able to be a voice for my community and ensure that the work we do is done within the interest of everyone,” Cadore said.

“There are very few people of color, especially women of color in policy or C-Suite positions throughout the industry. I have had the opportunity to not only be a voice for minorities, but to help open doors and provide encouragement for others within the industry.”
