Alumnae Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneur is one of those sexy French words that has more to do with patience and perseverance than enterprise and business. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the American economic landscape and women play a major role in that picture.

According to the 2013 State of Women-Owned Business Report by American Express Open, there are more than 8.6 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. that collectively generate more than $1.3 trillion in revenues to the economy. In that mix includes Spelman alumnae who generate annual revenues up to $6 million. Read about some of our Spelman sisters who are part of the fabric that nourishes the American economy.
