Sister 2 Sister Professional Mentoring Program

The Sister 2 Sister Professional Mentoring Program (S2S) is an initiative of the Spelman College Strategic Plan 2017: Strengthening the Core. The program launched during the 2011-2012 academic year and was designed to ultimately match 125 alumnae with 125 students in professional development mentoring relationships.

Sister 2 Sister Alumnae Student Mentoring Program

Sister 2 Sister provides learning and continuous personal and professional development opportunities for the student participants, through their interactions with their assigned alumnae mentors in addition to their participation in professional development seminars.

Over S2S’s eight year history, nearly 950 alumna-student pairs were successfully matched in the following disciplines:

  • Business/ Entrepreneurship/Financial Services/Marketing
  • Communications/Media/Public Relations
  • Dual Degree/Engineering/IT
  • Education
  • Law
  • Medicine/Nursing/Public Health

Capstone Keynote Speakers

The culminating seminar is the Sister 2 Sister Capstone, which is a celebration for program participants. Each year, a motivational speaker who understands and values mentoring relationships, is invited to share the importance of lifelong mentorship. We have been fortunate to have several dynamic women with diverse backgrounds who have delivered powerful and impactful messages to the program participants.
