Spelman Founders Day of Service

Day of Service

April 7, 2018

Sisters on campus and around the globe will serve communities near and far in commemoration of this 137th Founders Day. From its beginning, Spelman College has encouraged  women to engage with their communities through service. This year we will honor our history by celebrating with a day of service on Saturday, April 7, 2018. This day will bring Spelman’s past and present together by showing our commitment to Spelman’s rich tradition of service.

Service Opportunities

We have planned a number of local service projects in the Atlanta Metro Area in partnership with the Bonner Office of Civic Engagement.

Books For Africa
Volunteers will work inside a warehouse to sort donated books according to category and age level to be shipped to African families in need. No heavy lifting involved.

Atlanta Community Food Bank
Volunteers will work inside the Product Rescue Center to inspect, sort, and pack quality grocery donations to prepare for distribution to over 600 agencies across Georgia.

Say Yes to the White Dress
Join the Atlanta Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College as they distribute donated white tradition attire for first year students and seniors of the Class of 2018 in preparation for Founders Day 2018.

Alumnae Registration

STUDENTS: Please register via Galaxy Digital. The student registration will open April 2, 2018.
