Meet Our Social Justice Fellows

Rayven Peterson, C'2021

Raven Peterson Rayven Peterson is a junior psychology major from Dayton, Ohio.

During the summer, Peterson interned at a nonprofit organization known as Youth Villages which is provides help for children and young people across the United States who face a wide range of emotional, mental and behavioral problems. The targeted population she worked with was teenage boys who have sexual and social-behavioral challenges. As a counselor, Peterson was able to lead, facilitate and assist in many therapeutic activities and programs to develop and strengthen their life skills.

"...because REAL change needs to happen consistently. There are issues that marginalized individuals have faced for generations without any change, and I advocate and bring awareness to those systemic issues within our society focusing specifically on how the healthcare system limits the rights and abilities of marginalized groups of people."
