Rayven Peterson, C'2021

Rayven PetersonRayven Peterson, a graduating senior psychology major from Dayton, Ohio, is working on attaining her B.A. degree in psychology from Spelman College. Rayven is a Social Justice Fellow focusing on mental health advocacy. When Rayven is not busy with her scholarly engagements, she dedicates her time to serving her community through a number of activities. She volunteers at Brown Middle School and KIPP Strive Primary Academy in Atlanta and the Dayton Metro Library. She is currently a certified mental health first aid and a certified peer counselor. With both of these certifications, she offers her services to the Spelman community by being a supportive person that students can come to in times of need. After Rayven completes her matriculation through Spelman, she plans to pursue a doctorate. Her career goal is to make meaningful and culturally sensitive contributions to psychological research concerning communities of color and to own practice as a child psychologist.
