Social Justice Scholar: Shaniya-Marie Hill C'2023

Shaniya-Marie HillShaniya-Marie Hill is a senior Sociology major from Philadelphia, PA. She is a first-generation college student at Spelman. This summer Shaniya-Marie participated in the 2022 STARS program at University of California, San Diego. With her principal investigator, she researched the disparities in higher education budget models across the nation, focusing on five states. She currently serves as the Vice President of Unlocked Minds, a student-led book club with incarcerated women.
