Niya Banks is a Senior Political Science major from Pompano Beach, Florida. Her social justice work consists of voting advocacy and education with RISE Georgia and on Spelman’s campus. This summer, Niya interned with The Center for Civic Innovation. The CCI is committed to promoting equity in the city of Atlanta by advocating for local policy change and uplifting the voices of local community leaders. While working with the CCI, Niya conducted research on community organizations across the country and studied their effectiveness in the communities that they serve.
