Women in STEM Speaker Series

A Seminar Series Celebrating Trailblazing Women

From Chemist, Alice Bell to Physicist and Mathematician, Katherine Johnson, Black women have been instrumental in many of our science and medical discoveries. Spelman College's Center of Excellence for Minority Women in STEM is celebrating trailblazing women currently making phenomenal strides in STEM through its Women in STEM Speaker Series.

The theme for the 2020-21 academic year is COVID-19. During this unprecedented time of a global pandemic, our campus and many others around the nation have been greatly affected. Our desire to stay at the forefront of education and research leads us to create opportunities that will allow students, faculty and the community to participate in conversations with women of color actively engaged in research related to COVID-19.

The inaugural “Women in STEM” event, co-hosted by Environmental and Health Science’s “Chat & Chew” seminar series will take place Oct. 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
