Research Day 2022 | Friday, April 22
This year, Research Day will have a hybrid format of in-person and virtual participation.
- All student presenters are required to submit a virtual version of their project. Please see the Student Presentor Instructions (PDF) for details about the upload process.
- Students were given the option to select “virtual only” or face-to-face.
- Students were also given the option to opt-in for the competition (judging portion).
- All student presenters will receive feedback via comments in the platform.
Project Approval
Please work with your mentee to review and provide your approval BEFORE the final project is submitted into Symposium. Mentors will receive an email requesting the documented approval of their student's project once it is uploaded into Symposium. If you agree to the submission, please approve. If you find discrepancies in your student's final submission, please disapprove the project. Your mentee will have to resubmit the project and the old submission will be deleted if you disapprove.
Judging & Feedback
All judging will take place virtually on Rocket Judge. Students will have assigned times to login for their Q&A session with at least three assigned judges. Judges will review their assigned projects before the presenter Q&A Session. Students will be given 10 minutes for the Q&A. Please explore the links for Competitor Experience and Judge Experience.
Student Engagement
This year, we will pilot efforts to track and incentivize participation in Research Day. Student attendees will earn points that will go towards a variety of "Swag Buck" items. The swag items will be made available during our Closing Cookout Celebration. We will track all touch points for student engagement with an app called EZCheck. Students will be able to use their cell phones to check-in.
We are also encouraging faculty to participate and to provide extra credit for attending the event, if possible.
