The Path Forward - Fall 2021

COVID Protocols for Faculty, Staff and Students for Fall 2021

COVID Safety Protocols

Fall 2021 classes at Spelman College began on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021 using a fully in-person, residential and instructional model where students and professors engage in learning in physical classrooms.

To maintain Spelman’s academic excellence, mitigate against the spread of COVID-19, and adhere to the Atlanta University Center Return to Campus Guidelines, the following proactive health and safety protocols have been established:

  • Mandatory vaccinations
  • Required COVID-19 testing
  • Symptom tracking and monitoring
  • Contact tracing
  • Mandatory mask wearing
  • Frequent handwashing and disinfecting
  • Physical distancing
  • Isolation and quarantine measures

Do Your Part: Post the Spelman, MASK UP! Message on Your Door

At Spelman, masks (not facial shields) are required at all at all times -- indoors and outdoors; so everyone is required to MASK UP! to protect and keep the community healthy.

Faculty and staff will also require their students and colleagues to wear a mask when entering their office spaces. The entire campus community must commit to respecting and complying with the protocols at Spelman's and as listed in the AUC Return to Campus guidelines.
