Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission

GNPEC authorizes Spelman College to offer courses to Georgia residents via distance education and to U.S. residents outside the state of Georgia through the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements

National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements

As an NC-SARA member institution, Spelman College provides distance education to students in 48 states and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The State of California is not an NC-SARA member, but the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education has authorized Spelman College to provide distance education to California residents. American Chemical Society

The Spelman Chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society to offer bachelor’s degrees.

Education

Georgia Professional Standards Commission

In additional to national accreditation through CAEP/NCATE, the teacher preparation programs are also approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC). The national accreditation and state approvals recognize that our education programs have met both national and state professional standards for the preparation of educators.
