
Maya Griffin, C'2022, is a senior economics major and management and organization and comparative women’s studies double minor hailing from Easley, South Carolina. She is a membership chair for Future Business Leaders of Spelman, vice president of BLISS Mentorship, and treasurer for the National Association of Black Physical Therapists AUC.
Griffin is also on the economics department communications team and a member of the Spelman Economics Club, First Generation Scholars Program, Fair Fight U., and the Spelman-Sloan Journal Club.
Griffin realizes how important it is for her and for her community to enter into a field that directly impacts economic growth. Her area of research interests includes social inequality and public policy, and she plans to obtain a Ph.D. in Economics and Public Policy. Her ultimate goal is to to be a policy and economic analyst for the state or federal government, and eventually be a professor.
