Chloe Merriweather is a
physics student from Arlington, Virginia. She hopes to earn a Ph.D. in biophysics with the goal to work in a cancer research lab. Choosing a Historically Black College, like Spelman College, was a goal that she had since sophomore year in high school.
She chose Spelman because it was a place she knew she could grow and learn with like minded individuals who also look like her. Merriweather wanted to do cancer research after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her goal is to motivate other young Brown and Black girls to consider careers in STEM and learn that there is a place for them in this field.
