Eligibility Criteria

  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Rising sophomore to junior-level students are eligible to apply

  • Committed to pursuing a Ph.D. degree in a STEM discipline or a combined MD/PhD degree

  • Additional consideration given to applicants with documented research and leadership experience

How to Apply

Applications for the LINCS Scholars Program will be made available in Spring 2021. Please check back for specific dates. 

  • To apply for the LINCS Scholars Program, you must complete the LINCS Scholars Program Application prior to the deadline. 

  • In addition to the application, you will also need to submit an unofficial copy of your current transcript and two letters of recommendation (consider obtaining professional letters from a professor/instructor, mentor, PI, etc. who is familiar with your work and scholarship.

  • The LINCS  Scholars Program is a Living and Learning in an Interdisciplinary Networked Community of STEM Scholars.
  • The goal of the program is to improve access to STEM research careers for women of color by leveraging professional and social networks through social justice empowerment.
  • LINCS Scholars are two-year cohorts of STEM students who are interested in careers in biomedical sciences.
  • The 2019-2021 LINCS Scholars are the third and current cohort.
  • Interested students include sophomores, juniors and seniors who major in STEM disciplines at Spelman.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with directors and bonding activities/trips.
