    Karen Brakke, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology, has had her research on the development of bimanual coordination in toddlerhood published as a Monograph of the Society for Research in Child Development.

    Christina Butera, lecturer of music technology and composition, has been selected to present a performance of her piece "Headless Figures" at The Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) 2019 National Conference.
  • Spelman Faculty Accomplishments and Highlights
    Spelman College has received a $327,000 grant, spearheaded by Michelle Robinson, Ph.D., director of Spelman’s Writing Center and Comprehensive Writing Program and professor of English, from the Andrew Mellon Foundation to create community-based archives cultivated through partnerships between historically Black colleges and universities and the Historic Black Towns and Settlements Alliance.

    Dr. Kasahun Woldemariam, associate professor of political science at Spelman, is currently the Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow at the United States Mission to the African Union, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
  • Danielle Dickens
    A $493,708 grant from the National Science Foundation will assist Danielle Dickens, Ph.D., assistant professor of psychology, in establishing a measurement tool to help researchers better understand the coping strategies of Black women in STEM.

    Deanna Koretsky, Ph.D., assistant professor in English, gave one of the plenary lectures at the University of Colorado Boulder's Resistance in the Spirit of Romanticism Conference.

  • Spelman Faculty Lauren Eldridge
    Lauren Eldridge, Ph.D., a senior programs coordinator at UNCF Mellon Programs, has been published in Music and Politics, an open-access, peer-reviewed journal.
  • Lisa Hibbard
    Lisa Hibbard, Ph.D., associate professor of chemistry, recently organized and presided over a symposium at the 2018 Biennial Conference on Chemical Education held at the University of Notre Dame.
