What are your future aspirations?
I aspire to become the fifth woman in my family to graduate from Spelman College. I was rushed to a children's hospital in the fourth grade for a blood transfusion and surgery. The medical team was gentle and kind, and I believe the anesthesiologist saved my life. From that experience, I declared that I would be an anesthesiologist
Why did you choose the Pre-Health Summer Program ?
In high school, we're told, "College will be much faster paced than the rigor you're used to now." I find comfort in routines and find this program essential to adjusting to going to college, one of the most significant life changes. I need time to adapt to the new environment and this summer to support my transition. Getting comfortable in this new routine works, from being on campus and participating in the courses to career development seminars and peer tutoring sessions. This 'practice' will benefit me come the fall since I will be used to the college teaching style and environment of my next four years.
