May 2023

Spelman College Top 10 Student Alexandra Jenkins During her time at Spelman, Alex Jenkins fully immersed herself in the campus community. As a freshman and sophomore, she participated in multiple corporate finance insight programs and was asked in 2021 to join the inaugural cohort of the Goldman Sachs HBCU Market Madness competition.

A Gaithersburg, Maryland native, Jenkins was also an inaugural AltFinance Fellow, a highly selective multi-year private equity fellowship created to increase diverse representation across the alternative investment industry. She served on the Department of Economics' communications team, as the consumer retail sector head of the Student Managed Investment Fund, and treasurer of the Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is also a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program.

Always interested in business, particularly financial services, and how the changing markets and business deals affect everyday life, Jenkins contributed to the greater Atlanta community by mentoring elementary school girls in the Lady Buds program and she was co-president of First Generation Investors, where she was responsible for leading high school students through courses on financial literacy and generational wealth.
