Angelino C.G. Viceisza, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at Spelman College, has been named as a key member of The Board for International and Agricultural Development’s (BIFAD) Subcommittee on Systematic Solutions for Climate Change Adaption and Mitigation in Agricultural, Nutrition, and Food Systems.
This inaugural subcommittee – formed by BIFAD and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) – emerged as President Biden’s response to the current global food security crisis. This subcommittee has been tasked with coming together to gather evidence-based solutions to fast-track USAID’s role in tackling the climate crisis, while transforming food systems.
Dr. Viceisza currently teaches behavioral game theory and intermediate microeconomic theory. In 2014, he was awarded the Vulcan Award for Excellence in Teaching at Spelman College. He is the founder and director of VLab, a virtual lab that primarily engages Spelman students in research experiences.
