
Native Atlantan Erin Foster, C’2024, has been selected as a Legends Scholar by The National Basketball Retired Players Association. Five Legend Scholars were selected from nearly 1,000 HBCU students in recognition of their academic excellence and commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
The Legends HBCU Scholarship and Legends Scholars program was created under the NBRPA’s Legends Care initiative to honor the rich history of HBCUs.As a member of inaugural class of Legends Scholars, Foster is consider one of the "Starting Five" and will receive a $10,000 academic scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year, as well as assistance in career preparation and development, job placement and mentoring both during, and after their undergraduate years.
"I am honored to represent Spelman as part of the inaugural group of Legends HBCU scholars," said Foster. "I am thankful to the National Basketball Retired Players Association for their assistance in funding my education and for the career development opportunities made available to me through the Legends Scholars program."
A student leader vice president of the Sophomore Class Council, Foster is also a dancer and creative artist with skills in digital media production, animation, photography and choreography.
