Briana Whitmore Reflects Upon Her Spelman Experience

June 2018

Spelman Graduate Briana WhitmorePolitical science major Briana Whitmore is an Ethel Wadell Githii Honors Program member from Fairfax County, Virginia. She chose Spelman College because she wanted to explore both intersectionality and women of the African Diaspora. 

During her time at Spelman, she served as the president of the class of 2018 as both junior and senior class president. Whitmore was a Dean’s List honoree throughout her matriculation at Spelman and was inducted into numerous honors societies including Alpha Lambda Delta First Year Honors Society, Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Society, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honors Society and Phi Beta Kappa.

She was also selected for the WEL Scholars program (Women of Excellence in Leadership) class of 2018; and is a member of the Mu Pi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated. She will relocate to San Francisco, California to begin her role as a business leadership program associate at Linkedin Corporation.
