Senior psychology major Kirsten Bray, C'2018, will lead a hands-on demonstration and conduct a tour of the
Spelman College Innovation Lab on Tuesday, Oct. 10, as a part of the Spelpreneur program's next interactive session, "Tinkering," from 6-8 p.m.
Bray, whose artwork recently graced the cover of the 2017 Spelman College Research Day booklet, aspires to pursue a career in advertising UX design (user experience design, which is quickly becoming a high demand field, is the process of enhancing user satisfaction with a product by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure provided in the interaction with the product). The Chicago native currently freelances as an artist and sells her original designs online. She hopes to continue creating and developing her brand of commercial artwork.

To hone her skills and empower her peers to create, Bray volunteers as a monitor in the
Spelman Innovation Lab, a space that encourages integrating sciences and technology with the arts. She helps students become acclimated to the machinery and various creative software programs available for use. In exchange, she uses the space to study the design process and build her portfolio for graduate school. Bray hopes to continue growing in her artistry and entrepreneurial efforts in the coming year.
