Mea Boykins Featured in Black Enterprise as Millennial Making an Impact

April 2017

mea boykinsMea Boykins, C'2011, is featured in a recent issue of Black Enterprise as a millennial entrepreneur defying generational stereotypes of millennials as "narcissistic, self- interested, lazy and unfocused."

Boykins is highlighted as an example of a millennial "whose mission to 'make an impact' has been guided by her strong, yet grounded, sense of personal determination and keen ability to strategically set specific, poignant, tangible goals," the article states.

While at Spelman, Boykins started Student Emergency Assistance, Inc., a nonprofit that provides a scholarship fund to help students in need of financial assistance to graduate, the article notes.  Now a full-time entrepreneur, her business offers event planning, fundraising, public speaking, marketing, and consulting services with the goal of making a difference in the community.

"Everything I do is essentially tied into service, including my client work. I've always been a humanitarian and enjoyed doing charitable acts since I was kid,"  Boykins said in the article. Read the full Black Enterprise story.
