Candice Cannon Uses Legal Expertise to Change Lives

Candice CannonCandice Cannon, C'2011, is an associate attorney at Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush, DiCianni & Krafthefer, P.C. and concentrates her practice in general civil litigation matters for municipal clients. She was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 2015.

Cannon is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she chaired alumni planning for the Black Law Student Association and completed two independent research projects focusing on real estate matters. She completed her undergraduate studies in political science at Spelman. While at the College, she worked as field staff for successful mayoral and congressional campaigns.

Her experience in law is varied, and prior to joining Ancel Glink, she sharpened her skills in tort litigation, civil litigation, nursing home and health care litigation, medical malpractice defense, real estate law, site acquisition for telecommunications, commercial and residential lease review, and housing and eviction court.

As a third-generation Spelman graduate (Margaret Rucker Sheftall, C'59 and Sheila Sheftall Cannon, M.D., C'83), Cannon is poised to change the world. She supports many volunteer causes including, The Wills For Heroes Foundation which provides legal documents such as wills, living wills, and powers of attorney, free of charge to our nation’s first responders. She also tutors for the Illinois bar with Minority Legal Education Resources at Northwestern University School of Law.

Cannon, who has a demonstrated interest in politics and governmental law, is active in Chicago politics where she volunteers with judicial candidates and others seeking elected positions.
