Study Abroad Awareness Week

The popular Study Abroad Awareness Week at Spelman College features targeted study abroad programming and special events for students in all majors. 


The College is closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.


Opening Welcome for International Studies & Spanish and French Majors

Welcome to the world of study abroad for international studies, Spanish and French majors! Drop in to meet faculty and staff from the International Studies & World Languages and Literature departments, and learn about semester study abroad opportunities at Spelman College, including the major destinations and cultures you can expect to experience while traveling abroad. Explore how study abroad supports your path forward as a professional in your field of study.


Spring Study Abroad Awareness Week Study Abroad & Global Internships 101
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (drop in) | Albro-Falconer-Manley Science Center 203
Learn what steps to take to study abroad for a semester in worldwide locations for all majors; or how to obtain a global internship for Summer 2020 in cities like Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dublin, London, Shanghai, Sydney for academic credit. Funding is available for CAPA Global Internships!

Fall 2019 Semester Abroad Returning Student Welcome & Roundtable
5:15 - 6-15 p.m. | Suites Private Dining Room
Confirm your participation for the Returning Semester Study Abroad Student Welcome & Roundtable, if you traveled abroad in spring or fall 2019. This is your opportunity to share and debrief about your experiences abroad, as well as share your plans for the future. Pizza will be served on a first-come-first-served basis.
