Moderator: The Social Determinants of Black Women’s Health

Cynthia Trawick is director of the Public Health Sciences Institute and associate vice president for Health & Wellness at Morehouse College. Trawick has over 20 years’ experience in education and preparing students for graduate schools of public health and health professional careers. She played a key role in establishing the priorities of PHSI. She provides leadership, academic advisement and support to students, and reviews all programmatic components of PHSI. Also, Trawick interfaces with numerous individuals from agencies, institutions and foundations to advance the institute’s programmatic objectives.

Under her guidance, the Project Imhotep internship program has grown tremendously, a public health minor available to all undergraduate Atlanta University Center students has been established, and numerous grants have been obtained to further improve and expand the current programs operating at PHSI. Her current interests include increasing the number of underrepresented students entering the public health workforce domestically and abroad.
