Alumna Appointed Chief Diversity Officer for Global Law Firm

Lynnette EspyLynnette D. Espy-Williams, C'2003, was recently appointed chief diversity officer for the law firm Cozen O’Connor. She will chair the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and coordinate the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Her responsibilities include strengthening five employee resource groups: Asian, Black, LGBTQ, Hispanic/Latino and Disabled and/or Veteran Attorney.

"I have always had a passion for diversity and inclusion,” said Espy-Williams.

“It is an incredible opportunity to work for a firm deeply committed to employing a diverse complement of attorneys and staff and fostering greater inclusion in the legal profession.”

Espy-Williams is responsible for developing a strategic plan for the firm focusing on increasing diversity throughout the profession. “As Spelman students, we were taught to ‘lift as we climb,’ so that has truly become the mantra I live by. I will continue to mentor diverse lawyers and law students so that they are successful and achieve at their greatest level of potential.”
