My primary teaching interests are in artificial intelligence, autonomous agents and multi-agent systems, cognitive robotics, and bioinformatics. I also teach data structures and algorithms and introduction to computers.
My teaching philosophy is to maximize the education of students, especially African American women, by integrating my teaching with research, and if possible, to integrate student learning with service. My teaching goals are to:
As a computer science associate professor with an engineering background, I have concentrated on teaching robotics, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence since these fields represent potentially valuable contributions to human society. I desire to help prepare our Spelman students for academic and industry careers in these rapidly emerging high-technology fields. I have chosen to teach at Spelman because I want to do my part to help increase the participation of African American women in these underrepresented areas.
