" I am a woman who thinks for herself."

My name is Kristen Nicole McNeil. I was born in raised in Boston, Massachusetts. As a young girl, I always enjoyed reading and writing. As a result of my love for reading and writing I excelled in my English courses. I was very fortunate to have very good English teachers during my high school career. They taught me all of the fundamental skills that I needed in order to become a good writer. It is the guidance and structure that I received from them that motivated me to major in English at Spelman College. They also motivated me to want to pursue a career in teaching. I attended Randolph High School in Randolph, Massachusetts. I graduated from high school in 2004. Currently, I am a senior at Spelman College, where I am an English major and a writing minor. I will be graduating on May 18, 2008. After graduation, I will be attending Emory University where I will receive my Master's in Arts in Teaching Program.
