Sequence starting Freshman Spring

This page is a modification of the standard sequence for students who start the major one semester late. You should refer to that page for all the details.

Both of the sophomore level classes require CS2 (CIS 122) as a prerequisite, but the fall class (Foundations of Computer Science--CIS 213) is not a prerequisite to the spring class (Computer Organization and Design--CIS 216) so the biggest effect of starting the major one semester late is to take the sophomore classes out of order. You then take Foundations concurrently with Programming languages and defer Algorithms until your senior year. It's a little awkward, but it's not bad, and you can finish on time. You should avoid having to take an elective concurrently with software engineering; that would be a very tough semester. Of course, if you can find a way to take CS2 over the summer before your sophomore year, you can be right on track.
