Lab #8 CIS343 – Search Engine

Getting Started

This lab is designed to introduce you to TCP/IP programming. Search engines like google, msn, and yahoo must connect to web servers on the internet, examine the contents of their files and build indices of the content. The connections to the web servers are TCP/IP connections.

1. Review chapter 15 and your notes for chapter 15
2. Create a lab8 directory
3. Copy the files from ~hardnett/pub/cis343/lab8/ to your lab8 directory.
