Any Final Words?

Web site Design reflection

The overall design of my website is somewhat simple so as to not cause too much confusion for my audience.  I made an effort to summarize my research findings and interview responses as much as possible because I did not want readers to be bored with reading too many words.  I made my font bigger than the standard 12 point font to accommodate the visually impaired.  I tried not to add too many images and videos because they often cause the web page to become too cluttered and aesthetically unattractive.  I chose my color based on two things: the overall topic of my website and how easy/hard it was to read the text.  I think that my color choice just adds to my passion for working with babies, children, and adolescents.

Web site Implementation reflection

I have prior experience working with FrontPage website design application; therefore, I found that designing a Web page using FrontPage was not particularly difficult.  Saving my work to the correct drive was the most difficult but once I established what I was doing wrong, I was able to work much faster.  If I had the chance to do something different to my Web page I would have started my project a little earlier so that I could take advantage of the many design options.  My roommate Danielle critiqued my page.  I chose her because she had already taken CIS 100 and completed her Career Project.  She gave my good feedback on how easy/hard it was to read and interpret my information.  She also critiqued my choice of colors and images.

Career Project reflection

Overall, I think that the Career Project was an excellent way for me to conduct research on my profession of interest and the medical schools that I am interested in attending.  Before doing this project, I had not done much research on the medical schools of interest to me.  Talking to admissions counselors at the various institutions was also very helpful and informative because they answered my questions fully and to the best of their ability.  The career project also gave me the opportunity to further research and learn about the field of neonatology.  At this point, I am positive that neonatology is the specialty area that I am striving to enter.  There were a few points throughout the composition of this web site where I felt that I needed more help and guidance with using FrontPage.  This project reacquainted me with FrontPage and gave me the chance to explore all the interesting things that it had to offer.  I learned a lot about myself with this project as well!
