Overview

In the first two MS Access assignments, you created an address book of friends and family in which you could keep track of what gifts you have given them in the past. In this assignment, you will design a Form and a Report for your database.

The input form for your database should be nicely designed and contain an entry field for each of the fields of a database record. Your form will need to have a convenient way to allow a user to enter many gifts for a single person. The next part is the report. Reports are used to format information found in the database. You will create a simple report that shows what gifts you have given to your friends and family, and when you gave them.

To Do

You will need to perform the following tasks to complete this assignment:

• You will need to copy your access2.mdb file from your backup to your application disk, and rename it access3.mdb.

• Using the Form wizard, design a Form based on the Main/SubForm format (this is covered in your lab book). The Main form is based on your Table 1, and the SubForm is based on your Table 2. Your main form should be called Address, and your subform should be called Gifts.
• Put the proper field contraints to allow the user to input ``xmas'', ``bday'', or ``other''. No other values are valid. You may use constraints like we used in the TV show evaluation database, or you may use a combo box.
• Using the Report wizard, design a Report that reports each persons Entry Number, First & Last Name, and State. Then for each person list the gifts you have given them and when you gave them as a subheading. This is called a multitable report. call this report giftreport.
• Make your Forms and Reports as attractive as you want. Try some of the different ideas that are described in your lab book.

Check with the Instrtuctor as to how this assignment is to be turned in. Verify that you named everything (filename, tables and all of the queries properly as you will not receive correct for anything incorrectly named.
