Chapel Assistants Program
The Chapel Assistants Program is a leadership program that provides opportunities for personal development, vocational discernment, and liturgical leadership. Liturgical leadership opportunities are designed to strengthen public speaking skills, to encourage artistic expressions of faith and to nurture servant leadership through community service.

Spiritual and Leadership
Development Retreats

Sisters Chapel sponsors an annual retreat to cultivate the spiritual and ethical dimension of leadership, community and sisterhood among her Assistants, her Scholars, and WISDOM Center residents. The retreat offers workshops on personal and vocational reflection, community building, and sisterhood through the sharing of spiritual autobiographies.

Performing Arts Ministry
Sisters Chapel has a burgeoning performing arts program. Through this ministry program, students are encouraged to develop various artistic expressions such as singing, composing and playing music, dancing, writing, miming, staging, and much more…

Graduate School Tour
A five-day regional tour of theological institutions is available to interested Atlanta University Center (AUC) rising juniors and seniors. This tour introduces students to prominent graduate schools with programs in theology, sacred text and religious studies such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Union Theological University and others. During the tour, AUC students have the opportunity to meet with graduate students, faculty and staff.

Pastoral Counseling
Counseling from a pastoral and spiritual perspective is available to students, faculty and staff. Collaboration and support from Counseling Services is ongoing.

Graduate Contextual Education
Contextual education and field placements are available at Sisters Chapel for graduate students currently enrolled full time in an accredited program of theological education.

Senior Worship Service
This annual worship service is an exciting opportunity for seven graduating seniors to share their story of faith and wisdom through highlighting fruits of the spirit and applying the fruits to life lessons with particular focus on their Spelman experience.

Elders' Send-Off
To affirm our African traditions, each year, a nonreligious ritual Elders' Send-Off ceremony is celebrated as a rite of passage that offers an opportunity for elders to bless graduating seniors and non-returning faculty and staff members as they prepare for the next stage on their life's journey.

This year, all graduating seniors and non-returning faculty and staff will line up in the Cosby Academic Center Lobby at 4:30 p.m. (Upper Manley in case of rain). The attire for graduating seniors is black.
