WISDOM Center: Faculty/Staff Programs
Faculty, Staff, and Curriculum Development Programs
This program provides mini grants to faculty and staff who are connecting their work with their spiritual identity and their faith.
The mini-grant can be used to develop curriculum or to engage in professional development and attend educational conferences or retreats.
Grants in the amount of $2,000 - $2,500 are awarded to faculty and staff members whose proposals make clear theological, religious, or spiritual connections to their respective field of work.
Distinguished Lecture Series
The lecture series is designed to
facilitate cultural, theological, and religious conversations that inform,
evaluate, and produce new
visions for moral action among people
of African descent. During the Distinguished Lecture Series, Spelman students have the opportunity to engage with renowned scholars and to share their own scholarly perspective in the process.
Community Linkages and Networking
Partnerships with educational, civic,
social justice and faith- based institutions are designed to foster community collaborations and linkages for roundtable discussions with religious leaders, for regional summits within the historically Black colleges and universities network, and for broader service to the community.
