Glee Club Member Highlight: Jaleesa Schoolfield

jalessaSchoolfieldJaleesa Schoolfield, C'2017, is a junior music major with a concentration in vocal performance. Currently, she is the tour manager and Soprano 2 section leader in the Spelman College Glee Club, Miss Xi Eta 2015-2016, vice president of Daughters of Damask, a member of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Choir and Praise Team, and a student concierge at the Spelman Welcome and Information Center.

As a direct result of her matriculation at Spelman, Schoolfield was able to study abroad in Trinidad and Tobago, appear on the BET Honors awards where she sang behind Patti LaBelle, and be empowered by women from many different backgrounds. Upon graduation, Schoolfield hopes to be employed on a cruise ship as an entertainer and travel the world. Later, she plans to obtain her masters and doctorate degrees in music therapy and open her own center for innovational therapy.
