Spelman Going Global! YouTube Video Competition

Three Spelman students have been named winners in the "Spelman Going Global! Video Contest. Announced on Friday, October 1, Shanae Smith, C'2011, Zaire Love, C'2012, and Elizabeth Smith, C'2013, each received a coveted Apple iPad. Designed to help promote Spelman's Quality Enhancement Plan, the contest called for contestants to convey how global travel might change, or has changed them.

The Challenge
Create a "Spelman Going Global Video" that's no longer than four (4) minutes
to convey “How global travel might change, or has changed you.”
Three (3) finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges.
The three finalist videos will then be posted on the Spelman College YouTube Channel for the Spelman College community to view. The video with the most views by 1:45 p.m. on October 1 wins.
The videos with the second and third most views will receive prizes as outlined below. Winners will be announced on October 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. during Market Friday.
The Prizes
- Grand Prize - iPAD
- 2nd place – $100 Spelman College Book Store Voucher
- 3rd place prize – $50 Spelman College Book Store Voucher
The Purpose
The Spelman Going Global Video Challenge was created to raise awareness about the College's Quality Enhancement Plan for 2010-2015.

Only full-time students at Spelman are eligible.
The Submission Guidelines and Deadlines
Videos should be submitted via the Spelman College Dropbox at http://www.spelman.edu/dropbox, by September 23, 2010. When uploading your video be sure to include your name, classification, and email address (i.e., Pam Smith, C’2010)
Videos can be submitted on DVD as well. DVDs should be submitted to the Office of Communications in Rockefeller Hall, Suite 201-D by 5 p.m. on September 23, 2010. Please include your name, classification and email address on the cover.
Entries will not be accepted without a record of acknowledgement of the rules below.
The Rules
- Videos may not violate or depict any violation of Student Handbook rules. Violation of Spelman College Student Handbook rules will result in disqualification
- Alcohol, drugs, profanity, violence and nudity are strictly prohibited
- ALL participants must sign a release form
- ALL forms must accompany DVD video submissions in hard copy (registration form and talent release forms)
- Videos should be no longer than 4 minutes
- Entrants must submit videos in uncompressed DVD raw MOV format on or before Sept. 23, 2010
- Entrants agree that the submitted videos become the property of Spelman College and may be used in the College's promotional materials. Videos may be edited or modified for promotional use without permission of the entrant
- Copyrighted music, video, still or other elements may not be used.
- Only current, full-time students of Spelman College are eligible to enter
- Only one entry per student or student group
