Volunteer Opportunities
The Spelman College Museum of Fine Art offers a
number
of volunteer opportunities. Experiences include working
closely with the Museum staff to organize educational
programs, guide tours, manage collections, install exhibitions, learn about
administration and participate in special events.
The Museum is grateful for the efforts of two dedicated
volunteer groups: the Alumnae Corps of Volunteers
and the Spelman Museum Ambassadors.
Alumnae Corps of Volunteers
Alumnae are vital contributors to Spelman College. These successful professional
women, many of whom have retired to the Atlanta area, share a sense of service
and civic pride in contributing to both their alma mater and their communities.
Inspired by their long-term commitment to the College, this dedicated group
of volunteers provides invaluable services to the Museum.
Spelman Museum Ambassadors
Consisting primarily of Spelman students, but open to Atlanta University Center
students and art enthusiasts, this group ensures that the Museum is staffed
and open to the public. Museum Ambassadors assist the Museum staff with daily
operations, art handling, program development, project implementation and collections
management.
