Bianka Charity, C'2015
Psychology Major Researches Impact of Positive Relationships

Bianka Charity, C’2015, is a Summer Undergraduate Research Program intern at the University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education.

As a SURP intern, Charity will explore the ability for adolescent youth to develop positive and motivational relationships. While at UVA, Charity will work with a faculty member on a longitudinal study of youth-adult relationships across various contexts, titled “Who Builds the Village.”

A psychology major minoring in comparative women's studies, Charity is currently working on her Senior Honors Thesis on the topic. SURP is designed to encourage students from groups traditionally underrepresented in the field of education research to consider careers in academic, policy, or research organizations. The eight-week program provides students with valuable research and professional development experience while working under the guidance of UVA faculty.
