Join National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellows, Frances Carter-Johnson and Patti Ordonez-Rozo as they discuss how they financed their graduate education via scholarships, fellowships, and grants.

Dr. Renanda Wood-Dear will be present to discuss graduate school opportunities in the field of social work. She will also be able to answer questions regarding the application process, funding opportunities, and qualities which make a competitive candidate. For underclassmen, she will elaborate on programs, courses, and special interests one should partake in to be considered for a social work graduate program. Brett Locklear will be present to discuss graduate school opportunities at North Carolina State University. Participants will receive information on upcoming, paid visitation trips to the University, where students will network with faculty, staff, matriculating students and AUC alumni. Mr. Locklear will also expound upon funding opportunities, application fee waivers, and best practices for submitting a competitive graduate school package. Project IMHOTEP is an undergraduate training program in public health, which collaborates with the Center for Disease Control. Mr. Jamel Slaughter will host a luncheon outlining project sites (both domestically and abroad) and the application process. Lunch will be served!

The summer undergraduate research fair is a platform for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors of all majors to explore paid research experiences at premier research institutions. Graduating seniors will have an opportunity to converse with graduate school recruiters regarding their programs and available funding.
