The management courses in the Department of Drama and Dance at Spelman College
provide an excellent opportunity to utilize the Internet in various ways that
can enhance students’ understanding of this important tool in theater
administration. This website will house instructional projects for two courses—Principles
of Arts Management and Stage Management; it will contain the course syllabus,
internship and employment links in management and a restricted chat room for
students in my class to discuss stage management topics
Students in Principles of Arts Management will develop an online newsletter, production photographs and video-clips of our department’s productions and video interviews with faculty and students. This site will also house important links to audition information, internships, scholarly readings, and theater performances within the department and community. Students enrolled in the theater management classes would update the sites, therefore these sites will serve as a teaching tool for the students who work to maintain and revise them in the future.
